i spent pretty much every dime as simon pre split, without selling off qum or asking for more from megail. Spent on: Yhilini Mines, Yhilini Bank, Stineford Magic (55k+5k embezzled from the bank, invested via megail and trin respectively) buying everything possible in yhilin, aram, and eustrin as megail (minus the 100k embassy) leaves me with 50k left over. is this normal? also, are these decisions a mistake? i know theres a lot of major events in the future that this stuff is going to echo out into for better or worse.

Well, not buying the ardan embassy seems pointless if you want to buy the ardan bank post reunion since the ardan score you get from the embassy reduces the price of the bank by more than the embassy costs, and you'd have to spend more than the embassy costs on an almost worthless investment to open the war vaults without it even if you were willing to let the unmen motion pass(Since it's not that important and the massive unbow is nice). The war vaults contain one of the Incubus King key items that get used in a lot of checks in the future. With the aram embassy no longer requiring the ardan embassy it might not matter much post ardoheim summit though. Are you sure you didn't buy the special supplier as well round 1? You must have missed/spent some ProN in Stineford before megail tripled your ProN if you didn't. You could have skipped the Eustrin supplier and either aram or yhilin supplier if you have that in order to afford the embassy during megails route. Those suppliers have low return on investment and aren't needed for anything really(Although you'd miss some simon xp if you want to ace the battle of yhilin since you need to research orcs instead of essence shielding to ace the battle of yhilin with neither premium steel round 1 nor Eustrin Supplier).

megail's secret project? yeah, i funded that too, sorry. which ones are the suppliers? the horse and camel guys? if the returns/army buffs arent worth it, then i dont mind passing for the political influence. ive been kind of bare minimum-ing it militarily anyway, taking the pre-split orc horde battle at an 8/4 for the shining sword and orgy but losing carina's underlings and not getting max pay. i dont mind missing minor xp gains either. simon is plenty useful already. good mix of bulk, support, and debuffing.

The horse and camel are the yhilin and aram suppliers, you can afford to buy one of those but not both. The yhilin supplier can be purchased round 2 at a slightly higher price too if you want both, and the yhilin supplier is helpful for the battle of yhilin so you probably want to buy it round 2 if you don't buy it during megail's route. The Eustrin supplier is one of the people in Eustrin I can't remember which one, but it's the third least profitable investment in the game that turns any profit at all. As long as you dominated the orcs on the farm, got the Succubus and Stineford tower to join forces with you and do the orc research your army will be in good enough shape for a perfect battle of yhilin without any more of the army bonus investments.

great! so new plan: buy yhilini magic, skip yhilini horse (temporarily), buy aramite camels (also technically the bounty office but thats sx so it hardly counts - i rarely spend), buy eustrin embassy buy eustrin weapon and armor production, skip eustrin supplies (i think its the one getting scammed by the little girl/possible halfling). the orc research, that need to be done first thing, or is there time to squeeze in one of the others? having just done simon's route to practice, i can do everything needed with time to spare, so no need to waste time on transforming aka.

You only have the slot at reunion to do research before the battle of yhilin so you need to do orc development there if you want a perfect battle of yhilin. Or you could just accept an imperfect battle of yhilin and go with essence shielding there instead for some extra simon xp, since it's useful for battle of yhilin to attack the mage tower. Your best outcome for battle of yhilin will be 1 army quality and 2 or 3 army size less. That 2 or 3 army size less means 4 or 6 less army size for the third arclent war which isn't unworkable.

Okay then. I'm willing to make that trade if it isn't too costly and do the shielding research. Still a good amount of money left over. trying to do as best i can at any given time without sacrificing too much that would be useful in the future.. let me do another quick run of megail and see how this shakes out, but i think there will still be some cash left over. is that intended and if so is there anywhere i should be spending it, or save for when i get my next round of profits? You don't want the Aram collateral damage score (in the coming war against the Incubus Emperor) to be too low later on, since it affects the Aram Eustrin Embassy price tag. And picking this supplier now does help Aram in the coming war. If you gave Megail the gift she asked for when you rescued her from the palace, then you already have a supplier anyway.

Cazador If you really want to, you can just ignore talking to the supplier during the third arclent war. The collateral damage reduction from suppliers only happens if you speak to him. You can still get aram collateral damage over 20 even if you do speak to him while having 2 aram suppliers, which is the best threshold you can hit while still doing well enough in the aram front to control the supply lines for extra aram economic influence and prevent hilstara from getting injured. But it's basically worthless as far as wars go because of that yes. It's mostly for bragging rights "I bought even more investments" since the income isn't that great even if it does have a decent roi for a supplier.(It won't be until like round 3 of chapter 4 where you start to pull ahead compared to buying the yhilin supplier during megail's route instead though, and the extra ProN could have made a difference before that point that makes you never catch up) I do buy the aramite supplier during the routes where I just want the most ProN possible while still passing every section of the game with basically best results except the battle of yhilin and don't need to open the givini ruins before the erosian war, since I can, but ProN is very tight doing that. Your end game income will definately be higher than if you skip it regardless, since you'll own every profitable investment purchasable in chapter 4 or 5 except potions or more eventually if you want them, even if you open the ruins before the war.

Yeah, extra suppliers aren't story-required, but i have enough ProN left over to buy one anyway. Well, not the Eustrin one for 40k, but either Aram or Yhilin for 20k. I'm not so far ahead that i cant just do it over if one is a better decision than the other. I did peek ahead at the investments possible in this round of Yhilin and in Aram and even with the huge sums of money available it can disappear quickly with how expensive things are. Profitable long-term, but expensive. The three banks are good examples of massive expenditures, 1,250,00 ProN for all 3 at best. More at worst. What are the must-haves, what are the definite skips, and what do i have some wiggle room on? Some things are pretty cheap, but i dont want that to add up to the point where i cant afford something more important. But i also need to worry about affection levels. Granted qum is maxed out and yarra is pretty high, and i think trin is about as good as about as she'll need to be for her copies.

if you invest in the dwarren embassy, with only that 10K you can receive the countre birbe of the merchant guy for failing the alliance vote without is nay. it's bascialy cover the guild membership.

Fulminato The alternative is you just let the unpeople motion pass at the summit, which is what he's considering. It's an interesting playthrough and totally viable. This game gives you a lot of wiggle room in many sections where you can still get perfect results later even if you made less advantageous decisions in the past. Sure using the bribe to stop the unpeople motion while still voting in favour of it is the better route in most ways, but you can use that 10k ProN in other ways, they help a little in the third arclent war if you have everything else just right, and the massive unbow is nice if you let the motion pass. Nothing is unachievable if you do that. It is the harder path to optimize though.

But yeah... if you want to think of it as advice for someone who's going in blind and just wants to make good choices I'd agree that the bribe is essential if you don't want to effectively run the playthrough through your https://thelastsovereign.flarum.cloud/d/15-calculator/ tool to work out the repercussions.

I'm not sure if third arclent war army quality was ever a problem for me in the erosian war, but since I researched orc development for a better battle of yhilin than your playthroughs I had 1 more starting army quality than your own models so I might not have noticed if I was only just hitting a threshold later on because of that research choice. Pretty sure there's other ways you can raise army quality if you need it for erosian war though.

In a lot of my maximizing ProN playthroughs I'll use 10-20k ProN from leftover discretionary funding(Combined between both houses of petitions) to grab an extra investment during the discounted purchase phase after the third arclent war for some snowballing ProN returns. Small amounts of ProN still matter until after round 2 of chapter 4.

your outcome is ideal, don't think is viable an battle outcome with zero chaos and damage, you can gain a few free reduction of chaos and damage in after battle activity and the first yhilin iteration. but even if you don't be able to reduce them to zero or less it's still an excellent result. having to fund one round of chaos and/or damage reduction is totaly viable strategy. be able to hit all the lowest threshold in the battle variables the first playthough without having planing everything in advance is an impressive result on his own.

in the total you will have 450% to spend, a lot of opportunity will open later in chapter 3.

avoid strenght, it isn't NEVER worthwhile. for the best in basicaly every check about orc stats you must go for intelligence, discipline and evolve. you had only three opportunity to works in orc stats, so there isn't any room for other.

yes, it's matter. if you are interested in hidden score and event result orilise is greatly superior. lynine grant more XP and Sx. the petition in the end of chapter 3 is the same (orilise will avoid you and aram country score loss, a thing high relevant in the future) and the investment you can unlock before chapter 4 start are similar as well, lynine grant better pron return, orilise more hiddenn stat. the return of the archive (orilise) is little but it is still a reasonale 20%, but buy it in chapter 4 will mean a massive price markup (and not better return). the price can be lowered a lot, in a event in the second half of chapter 4, but it's a secondary goal and you can or cannot achieve it, based on your situation.

if you choose orilise the best path is accept lynine help in curing the queens and go for orilise for the river. if you choose lynine best take lynine offer twice.

Ikaros a wild idea though - this needs a quick mechanics question answered: does the affection gain from VP/Chaos/Collateral kick in BEFORE the affection check? because if aka really is at 85, and it does, then if i go back to the reunion and talk to megail instead of aka, the +2 she gets from low chaos would push her to 100 from 99 and by extension reduce my chaos by 2 more, which might let me zero it out in the governing phase while holding on to my 18 vp.

yes, you are correct, the RP gain are done when simon for VP and Janine for chaos and damage give you the report (crushing victory/remarkably contained/I hesitate to rejoice). the bonus megail and carina give you are in the moment you talk with them in the throne room. so yes, that rp gain is counted. [in my run i'm in the same boat, megail rp 99 before the battle]

My orc evolution order is usually Discipline > Intelligence > Evolve, for orcs that best match Simon's goals for the orcs. Intelligence > Discipline > Evolve achieves the same effect, but I like to do Discipline first in case I need to buy fancy walk early to max out Yarra's forging ties quest, which is often the case when the slums house of petition is unavailable round 1. You should be able to invest 20% into a double noble suppression campaign as well. Not all of the ways to spend discretionary funds are in the house of petitions.

Doing strength for the orc research is an option, as strength makes the orcs breed faster so you'll have a bigger army in the third arclent war, but they'll fight worse and cause other scores to be less and more of them will die than they would otherwise so it doesn't even help that much for boosting final army size. I'd never do that unless I need the extra army size.

The elf choice has like 4 effects. If you have crazier Altina, you can't get the best results in a sidequest without siding with Orilise. Orilise and Lynine both prevent a negative petition at the end of the third arclent war if you sided with them, but the petition they block is different and the one Orilise blocks is way more advantageous to block. The Third impact is investments available for investment immediately after the third arclent war. Both elves allow you to unlock an opportunity early, although you pretty much never want to buy either of those options at that point and can always buy them later, Orilise's investment boosts social a little and costs half as much but has terrible profitability, and while Lynine's investment is very profitable, 3 of the great investments can only be bought if you buy them immediately after the war, and there's no way you'll have enough ProN to buy Lynine's investment after buying all of the more profitable investments and those 3(The great investments have 40% ROI once, and 20% ROI every iteration after that, Lynine's investment has 40% ROI every iteration if you buy it at that point, you can get away with skipping the takkan trade if you want but that's a powerful investment you will never be able to buy if you do). It used to be that buying Orilise's investment there saved you a TON of ProN on that investment, but eventually a new discount on that investment was made available that makes it so if you wait until after the council of gawnfall to buy it it only costs 50k more than it does immediately after the war, which is far less than you'd earn from buying more proitable investments than it earlier instead. The last impact is during chapter 4 when Erosia first starts poking around, and is actually based on their RP values not who you sided with, but without cheating you can't get their rp value high enough for the check unless you sided with them, and it's trivially easy to get their RP high enough if you sided with them too. Orilise increases a hidden score by an extra point there, but that probably doesn't matter. Lynine adds an extra 3 points of Ginasta RP there if you sided with her), which could matter. Note: There are actually 2 points you choose which elf to side with, The person you side with for the first choice doesn't matter for anything but RP with the two elves, so It's always best to side with Lynine the first time regardless of whether or not you side with Orilise in the end, because Orilise is the more practical of the two and it bothers her less, she'll like you a lot just because you sided with her in the end so the few points you lose out from not siding with her don't matter, and you get some Lynine RP from siding with her the first time.

But yeah, siding with Orilise in the end is almost entirely the superior choice.

I vastly prefer Orilise over Lynine and other than rp with Ginasta (who is holy fuck strong and nearly one-shots everyone she hits through minimum atk/mag and maximum def/mdef). interesting that you should ideally side with lynine first and then transition over to orilise for the second phase, but i guess its because the one you pick is so easy to build rep with.

So i guess i'll replay govern yhilin to do discipline first instead of intelligence since that's more immediately beneficial and i need to do both anyway. should i be doing robin->orcent->dari research, or is it okay to go in reverse? and yeah, i knew i could do some stuff with the nobles because the liason said so but i wasnt sure if I SHOULD. So, 20%, 10%, or 0%? I have the money, obviously, but maybe it's better to save it? or not? hard to guess, even looking at the charts.

There's a guy you report to near the end of govern yhilin 1, if you spent the full 20% on the noble campaign it improves his evaluation of the country's condition, which nets you +1 social score and some other scores if he gives the best evaluation, so you always want to spend the 20% during round 1. You want 25 VP eventually, and every 10% spend on the noble campaign gives you an extra 3 vp. Most Battle of yhilin clears end up with at most 18VP, so the +6 is pretty much never wasted either. The only other sources of VP left are +1 if megal was at 100RP after the battle of yhilin ended from talking to her during govern yhilin 1, and you can get +2 during the airship negotations in the future at the cost of 1 yhilin acceptance or 1 yhilin economy score. Don't spend anything cleaning up chaos until after you've done everything in yhilin either, since there are 2 points of chaos reduction available from events during govern yhilin 1 which might be enough to get it to 0 or lower on their own. You might unlock some petitioners in the house of petitions by boosting yhilin acceptance from tasks around the city too.

good info, thanks. not really sure what my vp is after the fight but im pretty sure im not getting the megail points since she doesnt have the declaration of loyalty from 100 rp until after house jade, which i assume is worth some affection. ill have to parse the chart again, but if its as low as i think i may need to pay the nobles twice. or redo the battle with an eye toward vp instead of chaos/collateral. i also dont think i can get enough acceptance for more petitioners since there arent any there before leaving for the sylvan region.

edit: something doesnt add up with these charts. you know how i listed what orcent states, plus the pre battle bonuses the charts say i should get? well, outcomes down the line seem to be running off a lower quality than the applied total, which is right in line for the stated amount, but also a higher size than the stated amount with no bonuses. this is confusing and i do not know how to math it now. i dont believe i can get either number to zero even during the governance phase though. i THINK im at 18 VP, 3 Chaos (after governing), and 2 collateral damage (after healing thelon). I may be able to play around with the battle to try and focus on one thing and see if i cant bring it down.

also, as far as adjusting the battle itself goes, i am able to trade 1 army size for 1 chaos reduction, but...not worth it. governing well gets me a -2 total, and from 4 that extra -1 wont zero out, and ill end up spending the 10% of my budget anyway. if going back and manipulating the megail and aka situation actually works (not sure tbh), then ill get a -2, and zero out WITHOUT the extra -1 so its irrelevant.

running the numbers on staying mixed or forcing the enemy formation to be widespread just doesn't work out. its clustered or bust here.

Yeah, it's always best to go the clustered route in the battle of yhilin, since that makes bonus army size the reward for doing well in the battle, and army size is the most important variable you carry forward from battle of yhilin. You can easily end the battle with a bigger army than you started it with. One thing you might want to be ware of, the mercenaries you've hired have no impact on your army size or quality during the battle of yhilin, which might be confusing your starting values.

I didn't even think of it from the army size angle, but now that you mention it I probably should have. Its just that the other two methods for some reason had objectively worse outcomes. Widespread gets chaos all the way into the negatives but has way too much collateral damage to do anything about, and mixed is just bad. Despite claiming to he focused on collateral damage its just worse in every way to both other forms, except 1 more VP which is so not worth it. At least thats how it looks when i try to math it out.

Running through ardford again atm for a physical test of aka's affection, will update with results.

EDIT: We have results! Somehow I didn't zero Collateral Damage despite the math saying that should have happened, but I WAS able to zero out Chaos. CD petitioner is still there, Chaos petitioner is gone. And I was able to pick up the secondary Petitions office. And I did do the double Campaign.

I really don't think I can do any better than where I'm at. Math says this is the end result getting ready to go back to Elfland again:

second round of discretionary investing, 120% national funds and 90% personal. theres some big, pricey jobs and some smaller, cheaper ones. not sure if anything is high priority, or if anything is a trap. for the statue and FANCY WALK, which have scaling costs, FANCY WALK is at 20% and the statue is at 10%

Fancy walk will cost 10% after implevon joins you if you boost intelligence now. Since you got the second slum house of petitions and unlocked the doom king statue you should be good for yarra's forging ties quest though so shouldn't need to purchase fancy walk before it gets to minimum cost, if at all(It's worth 5 yhilin acceptance, and every 4 points of yhilin acceptance gives a bonus +1 arclent acceptance at the start of the third arclent war so it's more than 1 point of arclent acceptance on its own too, plus it adds 2 to your final army size after third arclent war ends, so i usually consider it worth spending 10% on it, although it doesn't really do anything THAT important if your arclent acceptance is high enough to get people to listen to you in the third arclent war without it)

The noble corruption petition is awful, may as well banish him from the house of petitions, you don't need the infrastructure investment yet but grab it round 3 or 4, mercenaries, magical standards, shrine renovation, and border reinforcement should be the last things you purchase, you want to max out yhilin acceptance at this point, so elven ghetto restoration, doom king statue, and any of the succubus related petitions you've unlocked except national sex trade are what to buy now, although you might want to skip succubus immigration reform. You can buy national sex trade round 4 or 5 if you want, and you need to buy it eventually if you don't buy immigration reform. You need 3 of the succubus petitions, but don't need all 4 of them. Having the 4th one just adds +5 to army size. Immigration reform costs 25% funds, and only gives 2 acceptance on its own. It also gives an -5 IKD morale penalty during the third arclent war but I usually get to like -10 IKD morale and you only need to get that to 9 or less so that isn't really a huge boon for it. National sex trade costs 50% once your acceptance is high enough, which is 25% more than immigration reform, but it boosts yhilin economy by 2 and adds 5 global economy in addition to 2 acceptance so is way better for hidden scores. If you buy it by round 4 at the latest it also adds 2 to a hidden score but that hidden score is kind of worthless to raise above 7 and having both this and the infrastructure investment gets it to 9 so I don't let that affect whether or not I buy it.

For the slums house of petitions, don't buy any of the celebrations, and you can buy everything else. I personally like to skip buying the arcane sexual magical agreement because it gives me an extra 7500 ProN from having 25% instead of 5% Personal funds remaining, but that investment could be useful at some point in the future so it's up to you and it does add 3 yhilin acceptance so isn't completely worthless. I'd buy it now if you are going to grab it though.(The only ways to get 100% personal funds require you to take megail's money round 1 of investments which isn't worth it)

succubus immigration is a army size +5 and army quality +1 in pre war calculation. the -10 IKD is in your run (and is strange go so low in that stat), i doubt Ikaros will go under IKD 0, with his half blind run

7.5K pron in chapter 4 aren't enough to by even all givini decoration. if you want them for grab something is because you are missing some investment.

Ikaros if you don't spend anything in chaos/damage cleanup you can buy everything in the first petition house outside country mercenary (you don't need the army stats boost), aram border reinforcement (aram take some dmg in the war is good) and nobility corruption (you don't need the VP). i strongly advice to buy everything you can from the two house of petitions. hidden stats are all matters in this game, don't take a free bonus for irrilevant monetary return (when the next chapter will start, near all the investment will be at least 100K, and yours return will be a few millions. 7.5K it's realy nothing)

if you have the statue unlocked mean you are in a strong position (chaos and damage 0- and VP 25+, you gain nothing above 25). so you shouldn't worrry to much about the city score. the national succubus petition price is reducet to 50 (from 100) with a yhilin acceptance score of 50+, so wait to take it when you hit the discounted price.

i see. will rewind and make better purchases. i just kind of tossed money around willy nilly to grab some affection bonuses to see if that did anything with ginasta while i scouted the next story arc a bit. i like zirantia. aesthetically pleasant, not very complicated. some good characters too.

basically the goal is to get acceptance as high as possible in this wave of investments then? simple enough. unless the extra ProN can get me something more important, i dont see the harm in funding the magic agreement since it "helps during the war"

edit: i enjoyed booting the gratuity guy quite a lot! im glad he wasnt necessary. 30% left over, enough to do magic standardizing, the shrine, or to save for later. save for later?

I like to grab all 6 trade agreements, the eustrin guild, and the denmiel mushroom farm during the discounted investment phase after the war. You need extra ProN to afford all of that though and the extra 15-20k I get from remaining discretionary funds often turns into an extra 90k ProN by round 1 of chapter 4 by allowing me to buy the mushroom farm there in addition to everything else, which can mean an extra 200k~ by round 2 of chapter 4, which can become an extra _300k by round 3 of chapter 4, which can become an extra 800k or so at least by the latest release. But yeah, getting those kind of returns is definately impossible going in blind. You need to stop thinking like "I can't buy shit for 10k" and start thinking "If I had an extra 10k I could buy that amazing 200k investment instead of this shit 100k investment or buying that 200k investment a round later"
