Q&A Thosha's playthrough

Leopoldotactico

I don't know if this the place for ask but while playing your walkthrough I have been hit with a problem, in the ardan succession crisis in the new givini quest, I'm unable to trigger olihise talk to undermine one of the royal and idk what I did wrong or I didn't followed well, is or even fixable ? (And another unrelated thing is that I talked by error with the king aide by his side, does it affect what should I do in the playthrough much ?) Please help and thank you for your guide, it has been amazingly helpful

Thosha

Leopoldotactico For this event to become available you need to have talked to Bhakhan and Farnan (northwest and noertheast room respectively). Afterwards you have to enter the northwest house of Givino Vinai (Farnan and Bhakhan confrontation). This will allow Orilise the sabotage event

Leopoldotactico

Thosha I'm sorry to bother again but when I enter the house bhakan says "please excuse me, I'm conducting business, and fanran says "excuse me, I'm in the middle of something " , I have already talked with both in their rooms and I'm pretty sure I did the rest of the guide in order, of course I have to had miss something because it doesn't work, im checking the wiki and your guide and still can't find the solution, are there more triggers that make it unlockable or locked it ? Sorry for inconveniencing you
Pd: I think I made luaonon marry fanran before checking the west building, does that affect ?

DukeLeto7

Leopoldotactico I think is the subject of a bug that was fixed. What version are you using?

Thosha

Leopoldotactico then you are using an older bugged version of the game most likely, i looked at the code and tried doing it myself so that would most likely be the problem. (like DukeLeto said)

cgh

Thosha I have the same problem as Leopoldo. Using version 1.1.2. Tried the Ardan Succession Crisis twice to make sure it was not some mistake I was making. This seems to be a new bug, as the previous version 1.0.0 worked just fine. But now, Bhakan and Farnan refuse to argue with each other in the shop in NW New Givini.

Thosha

cgh Odd, I'm playing the latest version of 1.1.3 and i can't replicate the issue

Leopoldotactico

Thosha yeah is an older version, and worse I'm playing it with joiplay in my phone, damn, I'm cooked then, do you have a save that is close to that point in the story ? I might try to start from a save if not sabotaging is really problematic for the rest of the guide, and truth be told, a more recent update should be better still, and really thank you for all your help

Thosha

Leopoldotactico Save038 for before Ardan Succession Crisis, Save39 for after:

DukeLeto7

1.1.3 appears to only be available through Steam, so if you are getting your copy from the blog or Patreon, you're SoOL.

I poked Sierra to suggest that if 1.1.3 did have a fix for this it'd be a good idea to post it to the blog.

Leopoldotactico

DukeLeto7 soOL ?
Well that's sad, I did update to 1.2.2 and I couldn't fix it, but well, I managed to get a new save, I just played the rest like normal until I reached the next save thosha gave me, but thanks

Leopoldotactico

Thosha and really thank so so much for your help, in the end I couldn't manage to fix it but thanks to your saves I did manage to continue well, thank you so much and sorry for bothering that much

DukeLeto7

Leopoldotactico SOoL = "Shit out of Luck".

I'm assuming you mean version 1.1.2 and have not obtained 1.2.2 with the aid of a nuclear powered DeLorean or a suspiciously spacious British telephone booth.

cgh

Thosha Another glitch which just came up is in Tower III Section 4 Investments Vino Givini Investments Teahouse. When you talk to the teahouse owner, she offers an investment. Megail's thoughs are about 1,000,000 for the Givini magic university. But when you click on "Invest", it correctly deducts 275,000 Pron and makes the investment.

Thosha

cgh Why do you report it here? isn't it something that needs to be reported in the bug thread?

DukeLeto7

It's known and is fixed in either 1.1.3 or the next release.

cgh

DukeLeto7 DL, thx.
Thosha, I reported it here simply because I found it because I was following your playthrough.

DukeLeto7

All bugs should be reported in the Bugs Thread.

That includes bugs you find in other games, various insects or arachnids you may encounter that you feel the need to share, listening devices G. Gordon Liddy pays a bunch of Cubans to put in your office (No Rule 8 here!), flu or Covid bugs, lobsters if you're from Maine (apparently), wascally wabbits, or that thing that happens to people's eyes when they are exposed to the Martian atmosphere in the original Total Recall.

Thosha Thosha, how does one trigger the quarrel between Bhakan and Farnan in New Givini during the Ardan Sucession Crisis? It's supposed to take place in the NW building. I've tried this three times, and all these two do is stare at each other.

Or is this a bug which should be reported in the Bugs Thread?

Thosha

cgh The trigger for the Bhakhan Farnan fight is to simply have to talked to both of them in the castle (Farnan Intro + Bhakhan Intro) then when you enter the northwest building the event should happen. This is an overall bug and not a bug to my playthrough and should thus be reported in the bugs thread (which already happened)
