Given what a monumental pain the PartySwitch bug has become (assuming this is the f#$%ing thing again), it would not surprise me if tablet vs. non-tablet did manage to matter somehow.

Just so we're clear, the bugged playthrough and the non-bugged one were both made on the tablet?

Also, do you remember when the last time you started a new TLS game was?

yeah - same tablet. as for starting a new game, it was start of february - but i couldn t tell you which version of the game i started with - it was the most recent that was out, but beyond that i have no idea.

as far as cheating goes i used more pron than i should have, aside from that i only changed which country i supported during the start of the icw - zirantia to takkan. - mostly so i wouldn t have to replay the entire icw and icp sections

New Game in February... It's the f%@#ing PartySwitch bug again...

I'm going to confer with Decanter after I confirm this, I think we need to put this 3rd Party script out of our misery...

Goi12 4th for the PartySwitch bug, the similarly named and comparatively benign party switching bug is on something like its sixth incarnation.

But given that this is completely separate from the previous three PartySwitch bugs in terms of symptoms and breaks the game at semi-random in places after the last time the PartySwitch object is called, this means that irrespective of whether I fix the previous version of the bug, odds are more bugs are just going to emerge.

We're going to have to cut the Kayzee's PartySwitch script out of the game completely. This means I have to find another way of preserving the main inventory during the Incubus Prison, code it, then sell SierraLee on the idea.

I've had the same problem as AlphaN and everafter. I decided to wait 'til 6.0.X released to see if it was fixed, unfortunately it still seems to be an issue.

This is the auto save right after the incubus prison. Also if it's relevant there's two instances of save editing, the first was adding a shining sword I missed in chapter two, and the second was buffing my stats to get through the Incubus prison faster to test if the new version fixed the bug.

dilliager1 well, the good news is we know what's causing the bug and have a general idea how to fix it, and I think I may have been overthinking the problem by not attacking it from an object oriented standpoint.

The bad news is that no matter what else happens, you will need to go back to a save from before the Incubus Prison.

The editing has no relevance to the problem and FWIW, editing stats to create "One Punch Simon" was my solution for testing as well.

DukeLeto7 It's fine I actually quite enjoyed the incubus prison, will the fix be included in the next update?

dilliager1 I wouldn't discount the possibility, but I don't want to make any promises. Right now, I'm the only person with the bandwidth to implement a fix and I don't have a lot of it.

I don't know if that was a bug (in version 58) and since I couldn't replicate it in ver.59 I didn't bring it up, but, just in case, is there a timer or something in Yhilin manor (where Megail and mangled Unpeople are) for the Shining Sword in the upper left corner? Because the first time I opened that chest I received some claws instead.

Raiker presuming I understand your question correctly, the shining sword you are looking for is in one of a pair of invisible chests on the opposite side of the "bunkhouse" room from the chest with the steel claw. The chest is obscured by the "south" wall from the perspective of the player.

DukeLeto7 No, I meant the sword in the upper left room (guarded by stationary unit), not one of the two hidden chests in the lower right room.

When I first played the game (it was version 0.58.3 RTP) I took long time to wander in the mansion before going to Megail (and also some time to wander before this section), then I defeated almost all enemies except for the stationary guard and the boss, and only when I opened the chest. I received either claws or leather armor (don't remeber exactly which item it was) but not the shinig sword. I reloaded saves in the mansion several times, but still got only one sword from the hidden chest. Only after I loaded from before Revan's compaund and stormed through everything until the end, I had got two shining swords from the manor. That's why I assumed that there is maybe a hidden timer for this section.

I think I still have a save directly after the manor, but I don't have close prior and as I said I wasn't able to replicate this in the version 59.

P.S. Just for the record I didn't use any save modifiers.

Raiker Neither chest has any conditionals attached to it. Are you sure that you're talking about the shining swords instead of the Noble Figurines? The number of noble figurines you find is dependent on how few times you are spotted or get into a fight before talking to Megail. (Ideal being 0.)

DukeLeto7 I'm sure. I made a save before speaking to Megail (after taking three figurins) and later after I read on wiki that there should be two swords in the mansion, I've reloaded from there. Several times. I still didn't get the sword from this chest. I really thought that maybe there is another hidden chest and I don't see it so I clicked through practically every objects and walls in the manor until I read that one of the swords should be in the guarded chest. I concluded that it was a bug or a timer.

Then I reloaded from before receiving ledger and gone straight through storyline without unnecessary wandering. After that everything worked as intended. I don't know what was the problem. I'd be glad to give you the save, but as I was replaying all this again some of them was overwritten, including the saves in the manor itself. And as I was saying I wasn't able to replicate this problem again.

In the latest update 0.60.1 I had the Sarai and Carina conversation and got Carina to 100 before Simon recovered but sometime after Simon recovered Carina had dropped back down to 99. The closest 2 save files I have are about 40 mins apart and the only things I did (that I remember) between was finish Wynn's quest, recover Simon, talk to Mithyn and Ivala, and lastly some investment.

Raiker Well... I'm not calling you a liar... but the 0.59 code says that what you are describing can't possibly happen, and there's absolutely no reason for Sierra to have been messing with this portion of the game in the last two or three updates.

Based on what you are describing, I think the most likely sequence of events is that you hadn't worked out the layout of the Yhilini Manor map on your first playthrough and hadn't found one of the two shining swords. But you do remember being frustrated opening the two chests in the room on the lower right that contain a steel claw and a leather armor, and have reconstructed a false memory of the guarded chest in the upper left room containing one of those two items.

I'm sorry, but in the absence of a save with a reproducible error I have no choice to but to trust the code over your memory. 🙁

sigh I'm actually remember quite clearly how all chests was opened. After all I did sweep through manor several times before and between reloadings. I also clearly remember checking every chests for being opened (including obscured chests between bunkbeds) and then comparing number of shining swords in inventory in the save before manor and before the boss fight there. Before was four and after was five even with all chests opened. That's exactly why I did those sweeps after all. But, yeah, since I can't give the save file the point is moot. Well, since it's not the timer, it's most likely some very obscure bug, hopefully it will never appear again.

Raiker I can pull the event code for 0.58's version of the Yhilini Manor if you really want but the answer is going to stay the same. Nothing has been done to this portion of the game code in the last 4 years and the events you claim to have experienced are completely impossible as you describe them.
