Infobox guide?

Can somebody give me an idiot-friendly guide to creating new infobox types? I'm not patron enough for the new version ( T_T ) so I'm trying to help out with another SL wiki on Miraheze. But I have no idea what I'm doing.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a simple guide to creating new infobox types. As far as I know you just need to be sure your wiki has installed Module:Infobox and from there you can copy Template:Infobox or Template:Infobox_Girl from us and modify them to have the fields and structure you want. Maybe add some styling in MediaWiki:Common.css. There's a whole cluster of pages about infoboxes on Wikipedia, and the info there mostly applies to any wiki using MediaWiki, but I wouldn't call those pages idiot-friendly.

That said, what is this other wiki? Is it for works under one of her other pseudonyms? If not, I feel it would be better and easier to just make the non-TLS pages on the TLS wiki more visible/accessible, rather than go to the trouble of setting up and running another wiki.

The miraheze wiki is the one this forum is about, so saying it's 'another' wiki is quite confusing. ><

Anyway, I would suggest looking at the code of existing infoboxes to get the gist of it, or even use one as a basis for your creation. (By copy pasting its code and going from there.)

It's possible that I'm confused but I'm talking about a Miraheze wiki for Sierra's SFW novels not the TLS one.

I tried copy-pasting the infobox code earlier but it doesn't seem to work. I assume this is because Module:Infobox has never been installed but even if I could figure out how I don't think I can as a non-admin.

I believe you can check whether your wiki has Module:Infobox by visiting that page. For example, here it is on Meta https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Module:Infobox
While on your wiki it will probably just be a blank/uncreated page if you have not installed that module. You could try just copying that page to your wiki and seeing if it works. I don't actually know for certain that it won't.

I copied Module:Infobox directly from Meta. Those pages look the same. I then copied Template:Infobox Girl exactly but that page has formatted code instead of a nice box. Copying a TLS character's infobox produces the same code on another page instead of nothing like before. So I'm thinking that maybe one of those first two steps isn't right and I should try to get in contact with the guy who started it again.
