Cool that the best results in Kalant's route gives the most total country score points, doesn't conflict the desire to optimize with it being the most desirable result from a story standpoint.

Don't have time to fully dive into the math and numbers will probably be balanced a bit further but it seems keeping Luanell single is worthwhile, and so is copying Bhakan's guard. Donovan at -1 score might be overkill? Even if so I'm glad there is a point to getting it below 0.

Where is the Antarion marriage option though? /s

Same with the ideas of only getting Ignias to 3 suitor or Kalant to 11 suitor: not necessary. We might even not need to take Kalant’s help in warden of the south.

It adds flexibility, but Luanel - Farnan isn't much worse. All other things being equal (optimized) is that you trade additional +1 tyna strength and +1 ardan approval for a choice: +3 Strength or + 2Approval. In practice it's a choice between (+2 Str -1 appr.) and (-1 Str + 1 appr.)

I tried to tinker with that in calculator and I'm not sure it's feasible. Like it's actually impossible to get the best result out of Tak'Kan vote without at least one of them, even if we have everything else maxed, But there little profit in skipping S.Mages (at least skipping only S.Mages at that point).

Also Tunnels isn't that great of investment for it's price, both stat-wise and in RoI. It'll return actual profit only if we take it in the first or second investment phases of chapter 4, at which point there are many cheaper and more profitable options. And taking it will make impcat on some other investment-dependent or stat-dependent events, like ability to open Ancient Ruins before Erosian War or if we take the Ruins then some Erosian investments above 1kk Megail gave, or we may have fewer airships for negotiations etc.

Edit: does Antarion have to be investigated (by Dari in chapter 4) to get the bonus?

Alright, this is a big one. How Ardan Succession Part 2 was going to play out and be balanced was always going to inform a lot about how Chapter 4 needs to be optimized, and this does indeed seem to answer a lot of questions about a lot of choices.

I haven't gone over the numbers with a fine-toothed comb yet, but at first glance I think this suggests that maxing Donovan Work back in Succession Part 1 probably isn't worth it, and keeping Luanell single is good, and that Jhenno's help in Religion is probably the better choice (thank goodness on that one, I don't want to re-optimize Gawnfall).

Well, I didn't really see the need for 100k OoS, for the most part 50k is enough, I think. As for delaying War Monument, I already delayed it until after Erosian War and even then I took it for no other reason than Hilstara's quest. technically I could delay it further.

That's a total lifetime profit of 120%. It also provides Givini points when you're rushing towards 50 for Orc Merchant. Sanitation Mages, meanwhile, has terrible RoI, and seems largely unnecessary for hitting any thresholds. Dump it and you have 100k to play around with. 100k OoS is really useful, instead. Get yourself the Ardford Supplier just for completionism instead.

What do you guys think of Luanell and Uneanun situation, btw? I can make the Succession Crisis work with Luanell-Farnan, and Uneanun support for DK (lowest suitor score here). This actually works out better in terms of raw stats (Acceptance, mostly). But is that better? I don't mind giving up those stats if Luanell's final state is happier single, and the same goes for Uneanun. I can make it work with any combination of their states, really.

Yes, by the time of Synod Tunnels is the most profitable investments left aside from Tak'kan Mine, which became available after. But Tunnels is too costly. To invest in it you need to skip some other investments here or the next phase and at this point it will most likely be some of the event- or threshhold-important investments.

Also, from what I understand, 3rd phase of chapter 5 is the last investment phase, meaning there is only five rounds after Synod = Tunnels just before Synod will never give you profit, it just repay itself by the end of the game. So essentially, by investing in it you sign up for operating under less money overall (compared to skipping it and having straight up 1.5 kk more) in the next several phases for exactly zero profit.
And since it doesn't give that much stats and isn't linked to any other event aside from Gawnfall isn't it better to invest in, for example, Givini Mage Guild at this point and be done with it?

Luanel doesn't strike me as unhappy with Farnan, contrary to that in fact. Perhaps a bit peeved by Simon's manipulation initially, but not that much. As for Acceptance, I'm not sure keeping it high will make much difference at this point in the game. Not with thresholds like 1+.

The only thing I noticed that was different for .2 vs .1 for the succession crisis specifically, is that the Angry Blue Hat Man penalty for being ignored was moved up in the calculation. I don't think this matters mechanically though, since Tyna Strength and Ardan Approval aren't checked during the event where Tyna chooses who she is marrying. Only the other suitor scores, if Ignias has accepted marrying a Yhilin or Darghelon elf, and if Kalant fucked off.

If I'm looking at this right, it can negatively impact the Simon walk but that's it. As a note, it is always worse to ignore him, so don't do that.
